Biografie Aladin Aboutaleb

Born in Cairo in May 1987, Aladin Aboutaleb received a degree from the High School of Sciences and Technological Design in Tunisia. Since 2003 he has worked in animation and participated in a number of flashes and films. In 2010 he finished and directed the short ‘Coma’, which participated in a number of international festivals. He is one of the promising young talents in animation movies and graphic design.

While animation may struggle to earn financing and can be seen as less weighty than documentary films, it does not lack creativity. Tunisia produced 25 animated films between 1971 and December 2011, according to Wassim Ben Rhouma, president of the Association Tunisienne du Cinéma d`Animation. Preceded by the pioneer of the genre Zouhair Mahjoub, a group of young talents has emerged, including film-makers like 24-year-old Aladin Aboutaleb, who was born in Egypt but lives in Tunisia. In 2010, he produced COMA, a short in which a skeleton leaves the land of the dead to fight an authoritarian monster.
