Preface of Mallence & Patrice Bart-Williams

We strive to tell you stories that you haven’t heard from a place filled with a diversity of people and cultures that contain ancient wisdom and transformative perspectives…. from a continent that has been hidden in the dark and that is rising into the lime light.

The full scope of the African story has yet to be told: They are vibrant, abundant, rich and manyfold. Filmmakers at present are paving a way for the landscape to become more diverse, more colourful and eventually become the wholesome and abundant garden it ought to be, bearing fruits from every corner of this world.

African Films are giving an international audience the opportunity to indulge in a human experience so intensively human it's only in a place like Africa that this condition can be captured and conveyed via the medium of moving picture.

We wish for African film to become a voice so original and strong that it will eventually transcend where it's from but rather be judged by its quality and meaning in the great tradition of film. We believe that it indeed holds the impulses that will push the entire culture forward!
